a diagram showing the Germination of snare drums into drum trees and how badgers plant snare drums in city streets.

Planting and Germination of the Quercous Tympanum

Quercus Tympanum or the common Drum tree, also known as the Snare tree, Is seen throughout badger society’s bustling urban cityscapes.

The plant is adaptable to low light environments, reasonably fast growing and is known to germinate easily from cuttings. The more common practice of germinating the tree from planting the fully grown snare drums in the ground also gives favorable results and is the preferred method of cultivating the tree in city streets.

With all this in mind, it’s easy to see why the tree has become a popular planting choice for the underground city planner.

Another important reason for its popularity is its clear practical uses in the early days of Groovitation development. This is mainly due to the snare drums inherent resonance responses but also for its reliable and articulate sound projection, marking the drum tree is an invaluable asset to badger society.

The way of things

‘The way of things’, is a comprehensive guide on how to get sunlight to your Golden Elm (Sunlight being that thing that gives your Golden Elm its golden glow!) without the Elm beetle being an issue.

‘The way of things’ was part of a joint exhibition ‘Elm’ in 2023 at CCAS Manuka between Maximilian Gosling and Sohpie Quinn. Both artists focused their attention and made individual works about a magnificent Golden Elm tree that was at the bottom of their shared garden.
